The tech topic that I have selected is “How Computers Operate”. Over the course of time I took a course online that introduced me to the process of how the network operates. A computer is a collection of hardware and software components that help the user complete many different tasks.  The network works through the operation of the Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) Model.  This is a Seven layered model that operates the network which is installed on the computer. Overall “How Computers Operate” connects to the fundamentals of information technology covered in this course. Computer systems are vulnerable to each kind of threat due to software and hardware designed flaws. The lack in these areas expose the computers to all sorts of threats. Technology advancement  is continuous due to the world's dependability on technology. There are a lot more vulnerabilities stored in computers such as having weak passwords, and failing to update firewalls to protect the device. All in all, software is coded by humans and no one writes software completely free of errors that create openings for potential attackers.  In regards to symptoms and damage a breach inflicts after infiltrating a system, it is important to note the many different types.   The industry that I have chosen to write about is sales. What is sales you may ask? Well sales is the term that is used to describe all activities involved in selling a product and or being of service to a person of interest. I am personally invested in the industry because my dream job is to own multiple properties and rent them out. Yes, my plan is to let my money work for me and get my mortgages paid off while also making a little extra money off the top. I have met a numerous of people who are in the ring of selling and renting out homes most of which are military. My experience with using the ping and traceroute commands was interesting. I have learned more with this hands on experience than any other lesson that I have earned while being in TEC 101. If I remember correctly, I am fairly familiar on how packets travel through the network. Packets travel through the seven layer model known as Open System Interconnect (OSI). This system identifies where the packets need to go throughout the network with a series of hops. The main difference that I saw upon my completion of this assignment was the speed traveled. The average time differed with each country I am assuming. The average speed for the us link to google was fast in comparison to the link that I had selected for japan.  The ping and traceroute commands can be used to troubleshoot internet connection problems. Upon my completion of this assignment, it made me more knowledgeable about Microsoft applications. Majority of my time is spent working on word processors so I am fairly familiar with how to operate it. This function is best used for writing reports and essays. The spreadsheet on the other hand is great for representing data. Unfortunately I am not extremely familiar with excel so it was a bit difficult to operate. I learned how to create a diagram by just selecting the data that I already had. This was very beneficial because I usually make my charts from scratch. Lastly, PowerPoint is something that I also use regularly. Due to me having to host classes at times I use this application to make presentations. The application software that I felt was most relevant for documenting my day was the word processor. This application was more beneficial to me because I was able to add background information.   For this discussion, I have decided to use the app Instagram. Even though I am primarily on tik tok I enjoy Instagram way more. Instagram has made updates along the way that allows users to be more interactive with the product. Another thing that I enjoy about Instagram is the choice of making your page private. Instagram has come a long way since the app first released October 6, 2010. Not more than two years later did Facebook purchase Instagram for a total of one billion dollars.  Instagram is mostly used by the 25-34 year old population.
